Develop project schedules and work plans
using standard project management tools and methods.
Demonstrate strategic thinking and problem
solving by using appropriate information to diagnose project problems and identify
possible solutions; document pros and cons of proposed solutions.
Lead the project team throughout the various
phases of the project.
Manage project scope and ensure project
tasks/deliverables are completed according to specifications and on time; identify and
communicate issues to management and sponsors in a timely manner.
Plan and facilitate regular project team
meetings involving technical resources, support staff, vendors, and business users;
regularly publish minutes and status reports.
Manage customer relations by fostering
productive and effective relationships with business users. Demonstrate a willingness to
understand the business functions within the firm and gather a basic understanding of the
role of the business function.
For projects that utilize outside vendors,
establish a professional client/vendor relationship while ensuring that vendor meets all
contractual obligations.
On an as needed basis, assume the role of
project analyst and document project requirements using the standard business requirements
template.
Support management in recommending process
enhancements and analyze new procedures to enhance efficiency.
Share best practices with team members.
Assist in the prioritization of projects by
providing reliable work schedules and time estimates.
Participate in staff, team, and planning
meetings as needed.
Minimum five years of experience in a related
area. Health care experience required.
Demonstrated proficiency in project
management required.
PMP certification to be attained within one
year of hiring, if not previously attained.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Project and
related MS Office tools required. Experience with MS Project Server desired.
Demonstrated knowledge of structured
development processes, technical project management, software testing and documentation
methods required.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills both technical and user focused.
Demonstrated ability to exercise good
judgment, prioritize multiple tasks, problem solve under pressure of deadlines and
resource constraints.
College degree in Health Care Administration,
Information Management, Computer Science or equivalent combination of education, training,
and work experience.
