Description
Summary
Designs studies, analyzes and reports
pharmacoeconomic and disease management information at the request of internal and
external customers. Provides hematology and oncology clinical analysis expertise to
pharmaceutical manufacturers, managed care, various corporate departments, physician and
clinical leadership. Conducts pharmacoeconomic and outcomes research. Develops models for
cancer treatment alternatives. Supports and adheres to the company's compliance program,
to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Essential
Duties and Responsibilities*
- Works with customers to identify and refine
study concepts
- Writes proposals, protocols and
establishes effective timelines for delivery of studies.
- Researches and performs critical and
statistical analysis of medical and scientific evidence as the basis for disease
management guidelines, P&T Committee actions, and pharmacoeconomic comparisons of
cancer therapies and regimens.
- Develops pharmacoeconomic models for
cancer treatment alternatives for use in pay for performance, case rating, capitation
forecasts, and cost of goods sold impact analyses.
- Conducts and publishes the results of
outcomes research.
- Designs data layout for each study
(including data elements and sample size) based on required data elements from customer.
- Obtains raw data from available
sources
- Audits database contents for accuracy
and validity
- Analyzes data to answer questions
posed by internal or external questions
- Formats output of data analysis for
customer readiness, including reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree
in Pharmacy, or related clinical discipline, PharmD, Ph.D. preferred. Outcomes research
and pharmacoeconomic training, and two to five years experience in writing and completing
studies required. Advanced data base and Excel knowledge and experience (Access and
Excel). Strong verbal and written communications skills. Minimum two years experience as
an oncology clinical practitioner in inpatient and outpatient settings.
